Forecast Discussion:
A downtrend in thunderstorm activity and easterly breeziness yesterday made for much less lofted dust than the day before. Thunderstorm activity today will pretty much be confined to New Mexico. However, dome gusty winds from those storms may reach Douglas this evening creating the potential for a short lived period of elevated PM10 readings. The next opportunity for precipitation in Arizona is anticipated Tuesday. But coverage, if any, would be isolated within the eastern quarter of Arizona. Otherwise, breezy to windy afternoons can be expected through Tuesday. There will be little change in temperatures through the weekend before trending up a bit early in the next workweek.
Daily average PM10 levels are expected to remain in the Good range through Tuesday aided by beneficial ventilation. Winds from distant thunderstorms tonight are not anticipated to be enough to loft enough dust to push the daily average out of the Good range.
